Trenchless Pipe Lining & Zero-Dig Sewer Repair

Rehabilitate failing sewer lines, drains and vertical stacks from the inside, without tearing up floors, parking lots or landscaping. Progressive lines pipes in occupied commercial buildings across the Triangle.

Pipe repair without the excavation

Trenchless pipe lining installs a new pipe inside the old one. A resin-saturated liner is inserted through an existing access point, pressed against the host pipe and cured in place, leaving a smooth, jointless pipe that seals cracks, root intrusion and corrosion. The building stays open, the parking lot stays intact, and the work that used to take a week of digging takes a day or two.

Progressive has been a commercial plumbing contractor since 1983 and has cleaned and repaired pipelines from three inches to sixty inches in diameter. Lining is the natural extension of that work: we already inspect and clean the pipe; now we rehabilitate it in place.

The trenchless workflow

  1. Inspect. A camera inspection maps the line, locates the defects and confirms the pipe is a candidate for lining.
  2. Clean. Our truck-mounted combination units and high-pressure jetters, with an extensive set of nozzles and saw and chain cutters, strip years of grease, scale and roots so the liner bonds to sound pipe. The same equipment serves municipal sewer and storm drains, industrial waste lines, manholes and lift stations.
  3. Line. CIPP or UV-cured liner is installed and cured in place. Lateral connections are reinstated robotically where required.
  4. Verify. A post-lining camera inspection documents the finished pipe for your records.

Where lining pays off

Why Progressive

One licensed contractor handles inspection, cleaning, lining, any necessary spot excavation, and the plumbing, HVAC and electrical work around it. We use professional trenchless lining systems and cure our liners to the manufacturer's specification, and we document every job with before-and-after video.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a lined pipe last?

Cured-in-place liners are engineered for a service life measured in decades and typically outlast the original pipe. Ask us for the design life and warranty terms of the specific liner system we propose.

Does lining reduce the pipe diameter?

Slightly, but the new pipe is smooth and jointless, so flow capacity is usually equal to or better than the old, rough, root-obstructed pipe.

Can every pipe be lined?

No. Collapsed pipe, severe offsets or bellies need a spot repair first. The camera inspection tells us, and we quote the combination that fixes the problem.

How long is the building disrupted?

Most lining jobs are completed in a day or two with the building occupied. Water use on the affected line is limited during the cure, and we schedule around your operations.

I called Progressive because of storm/tree damage, which took out both my power and caused my water main to burst. Progressive could do both. From my initial call to the arrival of the electrician and plumber, I couldn’t have been more pleased. … I would use them again and highly recommend them for your ‘mechanical’ needs.

We really appreciate the extra time, phone calls to the supplier, and careful reading of the instructions to do the job right. Gilbert expressed his philosophy as ‘doing the job the way he would want it done in his own home.’ Once again, we are most pleased with the professional and courteous service your company provides.

Day or night, call Progressive.
