Endless hot water without a room full of tanks. Progressive designs, installs and services commercial tankless systems, from a single unit behind a kitchen to racked banks serving a whole hotel.
When tankless is the right answer
Tankless water heaters heat water on demand instead of holding it hot all day. For a commercial building that means no standby losses, a much smaller footprint, and capacity that scales by adding units to the rack rather than replacing the whole system. They suit restaurants with heavy dishwashing peaks, hotels and apartment buildings with morning surges, salons, laundries and anywhere floor space is worth money.
Tankless is not right for every load. Very high, continuous process demand or hard-water conditions without treatment can favour a boiler and storage or a high-efficiency tank. We size the system from your actual peak flow and temperature rise and tell you plainly which way to go.
What Progressive installs
- Single and multi-unit Rinnai and Noritz commercial tankless systems, including manifolded racks with cascade controls.
- Gas piping sized for the combined input, venting and condensate handling for condensing units.
- Recirculation loops and controls so distant fixtures get hot water quickly.
- Water treatment where the supply would otherwise scale the heat exchangers.
Service and maintenance
Tankless units need periodic descaling and filter cleaning to hold their rated output. Our maintenance agreements schedule that work, log it, and catch failing components before the kitchen notices.
Frequently asked questions
Can a tankless system keep up with a commercial kitchen?
Yes, when it is sized for the real peak. Racked systems combine several units and fire only as many as the demand needs, so capacity is there for the rush and fuel is not wasted the rest of the day.
How long do commercial tankless units last?
With scheduled descaling they typically outlast a comparable storage tank. Ask us for the manufacturer warranty terms for the specific unit we propose.
Do you service tankless systems you did not install?
Yes. We repair and maintain Rinnai, Noritz and other commercial tankless brands.

I called Progressive because of storm/tree damage, which took out both my power and caused my water main to burst. Progressive could do both. From my initial call to the arrival of the electrician and plumber, I couldn’t have been more pleased. … I would use them again and highly recommend them for your ‘mechanical’ needs.

We really appreciate the extra time, phone calls to the supplier, and careful reading of the instructions to do the job right. Gilbert expressed his philosophy as ‘doing the job the way he would want it done in his own home.’ Once again, we are most pleased with the professional and courteous service your company provides.
