## Charging port and connector

The Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, EV6, EV9, GV60 and their siblings use J1772 on earlier model years and NACS on newer ones; adapters are supplied.

## How fast it charges at home

These 800-volt cars are known for very fast DC charging, but at home they charge at up to about 48 amps (10.9 kW) on Level 2, refilling overnight.

## Manufacturer and universal chargers

Hyundai and Kia sell branded Level 2 chargers, and any hardwired 48-amp or plug-in 40-amp unit works equally well.

## Installation notes

Several models offer vehicle-to-load, letting the car power tools or appliances from its own outlet; it does not need extra wiring at the house.

Do I need the Hyundai, Kia &amp; Genesis-branded charger?No. The manufacturer unit works well and is a good choice if you already have it; a universal hardwired charger performs the same and often costs less.
