## How CIPP works

A flexible felt or fibreglass liner is saturated with resin, then installed through a cleanout, manhole or small access pit. With inversion lining, air or water pressure turns the liner inside out as it travels down the pipe, pressing it against the host. With pull-in-place lining, the liner is pulled into position and inflated. Heat, ambient temperature or [UV light](/commercial/plumbing/pipe-lining/uv-cured) then cures the resin into a hard, continuous pipe.

The result has no joints for roots to enter, seals cracks and holes, and restores structural integrity to pipe that was corroding or breaking up.

## The Progressive process

1. Camera inspection and measurement of the line.
2. High-pressure cleaning to bare, sound pipe.
3. Liner installation and cure to the manufacturer's specification.
4. Robotic reinstatement of lateral connections where the line has branches.
5. Post-cure inspection video for your records.

## Frequently asked questions

Is CIPP a structural repair?Yes. A properly designed and cured liner is a new pipe within the old one and carries load on its own, which is why it works even when the host pipe is badly deteriorated.



How much access do you need?Usually an existing cleanout or manhole. Where none exists we open a single small access point instead of a trench along the whole run.



What if the pipe has branches?The liner covers them during installation and a robotic cutter reopens each connection from inside the pipe afterwards.
